I’m a highly experienced therapist with advanced training in psychotherapy and have been practicing for over 30 years. Both my life and my work experiences have given me great insight into working with diverse life problems, and diverse groups of individuals and couples who bring a variety of personal and interpersonal problems to various stages of their lives.
I graduated from New York University’s School of Social Work and did a three year post-graduate training in psychodynamic and psychoanalytic therapy. I’ve also had additional training in family and couples therapy, CBT and short-term treatment.
While I have a full-time private practice now, in the past, I’ve worked in child welfare, mental health and family service agencies throughout the city. I was also on the faculty of Columbia University and New York University Schools of Social Work.
As a longtime New York City resident living and practicing on the Upper East Side, I know the particular challenges New Yorkers face. Our city offers so many wonders, but it can also be very unforgiving, so it takes someone who “gets it” to help patients navigate through all of the city’s stressors. As a seasoned practitioner, I also bring extensive knowledge of our human and personal struggles, which can interfere with our wellbeing and ability to move forward in productive and satisfying ways.
